Behind and inside any any electronic device or computer there will be some sort of code or programming language running. We can give it many names ; code , cryptography, information processsing but all in all the main purpose is to translate ‘machine code’ into readable information or a useful action. Historic and well known uses of ‘code’ such as morse code (telegraph) and the enigma machine (WWII) have both had a great impact on modern information technology and programming languages. There is a great number of programming languages in use today but the 4 most influential (historically) and well know programming languages are Fortran, COBOL, BASIC and Java.

The tutorials we will be focusing on in this section will be Python, terminal commands & output to GPIO.
